October also saw a strong internal drive around wellbeing and social responsibility. Our Pink October and Movember initiatives created a collaborative platform for awareness, dialogue, and solidarity, reminding us that collective action continues to be a core part of our culture.
As we approach December—a season that naturally turns our attention toward connection and togetherness—we are mindful that many within our community will be far from their loved ones during the holidays.
Yet, the Ascencia family remains a steady source of support. Our sense of unity continues to thrive, enabling us to move forward with confidence, compassion, and shared purpose.
To memories and milestones

Every workplace has that one person who quietly keeps everything running smoothly, and for us, that’s Reuben, our ever-reliable Administrative Executive. You might not always notice him, but you definitely feel the impact of his work every single day.
Reuben is the friendly face who somehow manages to be everywhere at once moving from one office to another, making sure we have what we need, when we need it. His steady smile and calm approach bring a sense of ease, even on our busiest days.
If there’s a logistical puzzle to solve, he’s already two steps ahead. If supplies need replenishing, he’s on it. If a last-minute request pops up, he handles it with trademark efficiency. He is the quiet engine keeping our operations moving forward.
And of course, we can’t talk about Reuben without mentioning his legendary event-planning skills. Last year’s launch event—the one everyone still talks about—was a direct result of his meticulous planning and creative touch. He has a natural instinct for pulling together experiences that feel seamless, fun, and memorable.
So if you’re dreaming up your next big celebration, just know you’ve already got an in-house expert. Reuben is the one to call for top-tier tips and ideas. We’re delighted to spotlight Reuben—a colleague whose steady dedication, positive energy, and behind-the-scenes magic make our workplace better every day.
Since joining us from Nigeria in June, Deborah has quickly become one of the most vibrant and valued members of the Undergraduate Certificate in Business English cohort. It’s easy to spot her—she’s usually at the centre of a lively conversation, sharing a laugh with classmates or diving into a group.
Driven by a clear ambition to elevate both her English proficiency and her business communication skills, Deborah stepped into the programme with purpose. From day one, she has been fully engaged, actively contributing to discussions, asking thoughtful questions, and leaning into every learning opportunity.
Her lecturer describes her as a student who “engages with the material with genuine enthusiasm and supports her peers whenever needed.”
This commitment to collaboration has made her an essential part of the classroom dynamic. Deborah brings a cheerful, positive energy that uplifts the whole group and strengthens the learning environment. Her presence reflects the spirit of the programme—curiosity, ambition, and community.
We are proud to spotlight Deborah this month, and we look forward to seeing her continue to excel and inspire those around her.
When your workload feels heavy, don’t wait for a “perfect” moment to start. Instead, activate what we call micro-momentum—a simple, five-minute commitment to begin any task. Set a timer, open your materials, and focus on one small action: reviewing a paragraph, summarising a key idea, or drafting a single sentence.
This approach lowers resistance, builds confidence, and creates quick wins that compound over time. Once you get started, you’ll often find the energy to keep going. It’s a high-impact strategy for maintaining consistency, especially during peak academic cycles.
Micro-momentum turns intention into progress—and progress into performance.
